The program successfully obtained Initial Accreditation in August 2016. The program in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. The program in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics will be visited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) on April 18-19, 2019. The Commission is accepting comments regarding the program’s adherence to the Accreditation Standards for Advanced Specialty Education Programs in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. We invite communities of interest and the public such as faculty, students, program administrators, specialty and dental-related organizations, and consumers to provide their comments regarding the performance of this program directly to the Commission. The third-party comments will be used to assess the program’s qualifications for accreditation. In addition, the comments assist the program to assure that it complies with the accreditation standards for the discipline and required accreditation policies.
Comments submitted must pertain only to the Standards for Advanced Specialty Education Programs in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics or policies and procedures used in the Commission’s accreditation process. Please note that signed or unsigned comments will be considered. For comments not relevant to these issues, the individual will be notified that the comment is not related to accreditation and, where appropriate, referred to the appropriate agency. All relevant comments will have signatures removed and will then be referred to the program at least 50 days prior to the site visit for review and response.
